Jan Frodeno is the best triathlete in the world. He has won everything there is to win in the world of triathlon—he is Olympic Gold Medalist, three-time Ironman Hawaii champion and has broken world records. For seven years, photographer Tino Pohlmann accompanied the exceptional athlete to his most important races. He photographed Frodeno’s victories, defeats and comebacks—and his retirement from professional sports in 2023. The result is an outstanding long-term observation that tells of the fascination of Hawaii and of an athlete’s unconditional dedication to sports and life.
