Part of Tino Pohlmann's "Till I Collapse" series, a seven-year photographic essay following Olympic gold medalist and three-time Ironman World Champion Jan Frodeno through his most defining races and quiet moments in between. This image was taken during a photo shoot on the Queen K Highway on Hawaii's Big Island, the legendary stretch of road at the heart of the Ironman World Championship, capturing Frodeno in full aero position against the volcanic landscape. Pohlmann's long-term project looks beyond the racecourse itself, searching for the athlete's relationship to the places and roads that have defined his career.
